What is sent, and when

  • Building and editing: your description or instruction, any image you attach, and the form being edited.
  • Analysing results: the relevant answers (written answers, chart counts, or a recording you choose to transcribe), only when you open or refresh an analysis.
  • Follow-ups: the question and that one answer, when a respondent answers a question with Filo follow-up on.

What is never sent

  • Answers to name, email, phone, company and similar contact questions.
  • Payment details.
  • Anything from Google Drive or Sheets.
  • Shared reports never show written answers.

How it's handled

Requests go to OpenAI with storage turned off. Under OpenAI's API terms, API data isn't used to train their models and may be kept for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. FormsAI keeps a record of each request's size and cost, not its content.

Turn it off

  1. Open Settings → AI.
  2. Turn off Let AI read my responses.

This stops Smart Insights, question analysis, Ask AI, transcripts and AI-written test responses for your account. Turn it off if your respondents haven't agreed to their answers being analysed this way. To stop follow-ups, switch Filo follow-up off on the question.
