Custom domain statuses and troubleshooting
What Live, Waiting for DNS and Needs attention mean, and how to fix a domain that won't connect.

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Live | The record is in place and HTTPS is ready. Your forms work on the domain. |
| Waiting for DNS | FormsAI is waiting for the CNAME record, or for the certificate to be issued after it. |
| Needs attention | Cloudflare reported a problem, such as a blocked hostname. The message from Cloudflare is shown under the record. |
If it stays on Waiting for DNS
- Check the record's Name is only the subdomain part (
forms), not the full name, unless your provider asks for the full name. - Check the Target is exactly
domains.shaheercare.com, with no typo or trailing text. - On Cloudflare, switch the record to DNS only.
- Remove any other record (A, AAAA or another CNAME) with the same name.
- Wait a little, then select Check now.
Errors when adding a domain

| Use a subdomain, like forms.yourbrand.com. | Root domains can't take a CNAME. Add a subdomain instead. |
| That domain is connected to another account. | Remove it from the other FormsAI account first. |
| Pro includes one custom domain. | Remove your current domain to connect a different one. |
