Hidden fields and UTM tracking

Pass values in the form's link, like ?utm_source=newsletter or ?customer=123, and keep them with each response without asking.

Every plan
On this page
  1. Open the Logic tab.
  2. In Hidden fields on the right, type a name such as utm_source and select Add. Names start with a letter and use letters, numbers and _ (up to 30 fields).
  3. Share the link with values: app.formsai.dev/f/your-form?utm_source=newsletter&customer=123.

Respondents never see hidden fields. Their values are saved with the response.

What you can do with them

  • Branch on them in Logic, such as sending ?plan=pro customers down a different path.
  • Recall them in text with @: “Hi {{hidden:name}}”.
  • Pre-fill a question's default answer from one.
  • Filter responses by them and show them as columns in Responses; they're in exports, webhooks and the API.

Embeds pass them on

When a form is embedded with the script, the page's own query string is passed to the form. A page opened as yoursite.com/pricing?utm_campaign=spring fills utm_campaign without changing the snippet.
