Publish, update, close or unpublish a form
Publish makes your draft live. Later edits stay in the draft until you publish changes. Close, reopen or unpublish from the Publish menu.
Every plan
Your form is a draft until you publish it. Respondents only ever see the last published version, so you can keep editing a live form without anyone seeing half-finished changes.
Publish for the first time
- Select Publish at the top right of the builder.
- FormsAI saves your latest edits and makes the form live. The toast says “Published! Your form is live.” with Copy link.
- Share the link from the Share tab.
Publish changes
After you edit a live form, the button reads Publish changes and the form's status shows Live · edited. Select it to make the changes live. Each publish creates a new version (version 2, 3…).
The Publish menu
Once a form is published, the arrow beside Publish opens more options:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Copy link | Copies the form's address. With a custom domain you also get Copy link on your domain. |
| Open live form | Opens the published form in a new tab. |
| Share, embed & QR code | Opens the Share tab. |
| Version history | Lists every published version. Restore puts one back into your draft; publish to make it live. |
| Export form file | Downloads the form as JSON. |
| Close to new responses | The link stays up but shows your closed message. Reopen for responses undoes it. |
| Unpublish | Takes the form offline. The link stops working until you publish again. |
